“THE MORE YOU KNOW THE MORE YOU SEE”
Safeguarding Board Child Sexual Exploitation campaign begins
The inaugural meeting of the Safeguarding Board for NI’s (SBNI) e-Safety Forum has taken place in Belfast.
The Forum, set up as a recommendation as a result of research taken forward by the SBNI, has been developed with the key aim of keeping children and young people safe when they are in the ‘digital world’.
As the use of communication technology has grown, it is no longer enough to consider child safety in a purely ‘real world’ focus. To safeguard our children and young people, we must recognise that a greater percentage of children’s time is spent connected to the online world and that this world poses risks as well as benefits.
