Launch of Chelsea’s Choice in Belfast City Hall on Tuesday 21st April
SBNI is now at the final stage of working with Alter Ego Creative Solutions to bring the CSE awareness raising play, ‘Chelsea’s Choice’, to Northern Ireland.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter has given his personal backing to the Irish Football Association’s Safeguarding Children and Young People in Football app.
As part of the second phase of “THE MORE YOU KNOW THE MORE YOU SEE” campaign, the SBNI is working with Alter Ego Creative Solutions to bring the CSE awareness raising play, Chelsea’s Choice, to Northern Ireland. Throughout April and into May 2015 the play will tour a number of post primary schools across the region.
The SBNI Child Protection and Safeguarding Learning and Development Strategy 2014-2017 is being presented for a targeted consultation and Equality Screening. Following the consultation process the Strategy will then be placed before the SBNI Board for final endorsement.

Publication of the Marshall Report – SBNI Statement
The Safeguarding Board (SBNI) welcomes the Marshall report and its potential to contribute to a holistic approach to increasing awareness and tackling the challenges of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in NI.

Positive parenting : good behaviour and how to encourage it
One of the world’s leading parenting experts, Dr Penelope Leach, will visit Belfast on Wednesday 15 October 2014 to offer local parents and childcare practitioners advice and guidance on positive parenting. The free event takes place from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at Stormont Hotel, Belfast.
