On the 4 March 2020, the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland hosted in partnership with Queens University Belfast and Trauma Informed Oregon a seminar event on Trauma Informed Care Physical Environments: A place of physical and psychological safety.
Over 170 delegates from across health, social care, justice, education, housing and the community and voluntary sectors attended this learning seminar to hear from keynote speakers Dr Suzanne Mooney, Queens University Belfast and Professor Mandy Davis, Director of Trauma Informed Oregon on the international research and learning experiences of Trauma Informed Oregon that have been implemented through a state based approach has enabled a consistency of approach in creating trauma informed physical spaces across their services.
