The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland has 27 members whose common purpose is to help safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in Northern Ireland and protect them from all forms of neglect and abuse. The SBNI provides a platform for collective leadership and direction to the child protection/ safeguarding system across Northern Ireland and once again during 2019-2020 has proved to be a very productive and effective medium for interagency collaborative working.
The SBNI's Learning and Development Strategy for 2020-2023 is now operational and available to download.
The Learning and Development Strategy builds upon existing good safeguarding training, sets a benchmark for minimum training standards and provides a graduated framework, on four levels, for agencies to use when planning and delivering safeguarding training in Northern Ireland.
